
Bengaluru, June 3: The Karnataka government has announced a significant administrative reshuffle, appointing retired IAS officer LK Atique as the Chief Minister‘s financial advisor. According to the notification released by the government, this appointment is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
The government clarified that LK Atique will receive a salary and benefits equivalent to that of the Chief Secretary. Additionally, he will continue to serve as the chairman of the Bengaluru Business Corridor until further orders.
Alongside this appointment, the state government has also announced the transfer and new appointments of several senior IAS officers. Tushar Girinath (1993 batch), who was previously serving as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Urban Development Department, has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister with immediate effect, taking over from Anjum Parvez. He will also retain additional charge of the Urban Development Department.
Meanwhile, IAS officer Rajendra Cholan P (2008 batch), who was serving as the Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister, has been appointed as the Chief Minister’s Secretary, succeeding Kaavari BB.
Furthermore, the government has given Rajendra Cholan P another significant responsibility by appointing him as the Managing Director of Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL). Following this appointment, Gaurav Gupta has been relieved of this additional charge.
These changes in the Chief Minister’s office and the administrative structure are viewed as crucial steps towards enhancing the effectiveness and strength of the new government’s functioning.
