Major Action Against Terror Financing in Jammu and Kashmir: Property of LeT Operative Attached

Srinagar, May 7: In a significant crackdown on the narco-terror network, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir has attached the property of an operative linked to the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). This action is part of a larger investigation into a major narco-terror case being handled by the SIA in Kashmir. Initially registered by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, the case was transferred to the SIA due to revelations of extensive terrorist funding and cross-border networks.

The accused, Jameer Ahmed Lone, is associated with the banned terrorist group LeT. He is a resident of Mandiyan Keran in Kupwara district and is currently operating from Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir. Lone was involved in drug trafficking and terrorist activities aimed at destabilizing peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the SIA, the accused has already been declared a fugitive by the court as he evaded arrest while continuing anti-national activities across the border. The agency submitted a detailed application to the court, which subsequently ordered the attachment of the accused’s property following an examination of the evidence.

In compliance with the court order, a special team from the SIA attached 1 kanal and 14.37 marlas of land (Khasra number 113) located in the Mandiyan Keran area of Kupwara. This action was carried out following due legal process in the presence of the executive magistrate and local revenue officials.

Previously, the SIA had filed a comprehensive charge sheet in this case, presenting solid evidence related to drug trafficking, terrorist funding, and cross-border terrorist connections. The agency stated that this action reflects its commitment to dismantling terrorism, terrorist funding, and the narco-terror network. The SIA reiterated that strict action will continue against those working against the sovereignty and security of the nation.

Additionally, under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ (Drug-Free India Campaign), efforts against drugs in Jammu and Kashmir are being intensified. The SIA is collaborating with other agencies not only to investigate but also to raise awareness and implement preventive measures to create a drug-free society.
