Shivpuri, September 2: The modernization campaign of the postal department reached Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. A new head post office equipped with digital facilities was inaugurated to simplify services for citizens.
Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated this facility during his visit to Shivpuri. He also opened three other post offices in Guna and Gwalior.
This facility in Shivpuri has been developed under the ‘Jan Seva Connect Post Office’ initiative. It includes systems aimed at enhancing service delivery and improving the experience for visitors to the post office.
During the inauguration, Scindia personally took a token from an automated token machine and explained the workings of the digital system to representatives and citizens.
The minister stated that this modern facility is part of efforts to align postal services with changing needs. He emphasized that the new head post office in Shivpuri is not just a new building but a significant step towards modernizing postal services in accordance with India’s evolving requirements.
Scindia highlighted the goal of transforming post offices into citizen-centric service centers, making various postal services more accessible and effective.
Earlier, a ‘Jan Seva Connect’ post office was inaugurated in Nehru Place, Delhi, marking the beginning of this initiative. The Shivpuri facility represents the next step in this progression.
He noted that the postal department has a vast network across the country, and its modernization will help integrate this network with technology and improved services.
By developing post offices with modern facilities, this extensive network will connect with new technologies, enhanced services, and citizen-focused systems. The three post offices inaugurated in Guna and Gwalior will also provide better postal and public services to residents in those areas.
