Neemuch, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant victory against drug trafficking, police in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, have arrested a woman and seized over ₹58 lakh worth of opium. The operation took place on September 5, 2026, as part of a broader initiative to combat substance abuse in the region.
According to police reports, the Neemuch city police apprehended the suspect while investigating criminal activities. They stopped her in the Girdoda area near the Amroad-Darak warehouse based on suspicious behavior. Upon searching her belongings, officers discovered a total of 11 kilograms and 700 grams of illegal opium, which was subsequently confiscated.
The authorities have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and are continuing their investigation. During questioning, the arrested woman revealed information about another individual involved in supplying the illegal substance, who is now being sought as a co-accused.
The Madhya Pradesh police are committed to eradicating drug-related activities at all levels, including sourcing, transportation, supply, and trafficking networks, in their ongoing efforts to create a drug-free environment in the state.
