Ranchi, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : The deadline for submitting claims and objections related to voter registration in Jharkhand is set for September 30, 2026. This is part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, which allows citizens to add names to the voter list, remove names, raise objections, and update details.
Ravi Kumar, the Chief Electoral Officer of the state, has urged eligible citizens to submit their applications before the cutoff. According to a press release from the CEO’s office, those whose names are not included in the draft voter list can apply to have their names added using Form-6. Applications can be submitted online via the ECI Net or with assistance from the relevant Booth Level Officer (BLO).
Objections to names already on the voter list can be filed using Form-7, while Form-8 is available for requests to correct details, change addresses, or transfer names through the prescribed procedure.
Kumar emphasized that simply submitting Form-7 does not automatically remove a voter’s name from the list. Each claim and objection will undergo a verification process before any decision is made. He urged citizens, especially young voters and those not listed, to avoid waiting until the last minute to apply.
Additionally, Kumar encouraged individuals to inform their families, friends, and other eligible citizens about the approaching deadline. After September 30, the election machinery will begin digitizing the claims and objections, verifying applications, issuing notices as needed, and conducting hearings. This process will lead to the publication of the final voter list.
The Chief Electoral Officer also called on BLOs, Block Level Agents (BLAs), recognized political parties, and election officials to help raise awareness about the application deadline and assist eligible citizens with their applications.
