Mumbai, June 20: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that Ayodhya is no longer neglected or ridiculed. He emphasized that no one can now harm the devotees of Lord Ram or question the divine presence.
He remarked that today’s Ayodhya evokes memories of the Treta Yuga. The grandeur of Ayodhya, as depicted in the Ramcharitmanas and Ramayana, was a sight to behold. Reflecting on his visit to Ayodhya 40 years ago during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, he recalled the desolate state of the city, filled with fear and uncertainty.
The Chief Minister addressed the public after inaugurating and laying the foundation for over 245 development projects worth more than ₹290 crore at the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation. He also inaugurated the Ramayana Wax Museum and the zonal office building.
During his visit, he reviewed the museum and launched the municipal development booklet. He stated that further efforts are needed to enhance Ayodhya’s potential. On May 31, the municipal corporation, led by Mayor Mahant Girish Pati Tripathi, conducted a special cleanliness campaign that saw thousands participating, significantly improving Ayodhya’s image. He reminded the citizens that they are not just residents but part of the world’s most promising spiritual and cultural city, linked to the birthplace of Lord Ram.
CM Yogi described those born in Ayodhya as fortunate, enjoying the miracles of Lord Ram. He noted that his generation is lucky to witness the grand celebration of Ram Lalla’s manifestation. Previous generations fought tirelessly for the cause, facing numerous obstacles and making sacrifices. Under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance, the magnificent temple of Lord Ram Lalla is being constructed, enhancing Ayodhya’s glory.
He recounted the painful state of Ayodhya in 2017 when he was tasked with forming the government. Narrow streets, heaps of garbage, and limited electricity were prevalent. The government initiated the Deepotsav festival in 2017, which now attracts millions. Today, Ayodhya is connected by four-lane roads and a double railway line, with an international airport established.
CM Yogi criticized those who once opposed Ayodhya and are now trying to tarnish its reputation. He condemned individuals who questioned Lord Ram’s existence and attacked devotees.
He affirmed that Ayodhya today is a solar city, attracting devotees from across the globe. The municipal corporation has innovatively created a splendid Ramayana Wax Museum through a public-private partnership. During the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, a private organization collaborated with the municipal corporation to construct a replica of the twelve Jyotirlingas using scrap materials, generating significant revenue.
The Chief Minister praised the municipal corporation’s efforts, highlighting the integrated command and control system, traffic management system, and various beautification projects. He called for maintaining cleanliness and preserving the city’s beauty.
He urged citizens to adopt water conservation measures in light of the impending water crisis due to El Niño. He encouraged everyone to plant trees in the name of their mothers, including shady, fruit-bearing, medicinal, and timber plants. Additionally, he proposed establishing a Ramayana-themed garden.
The Chief Minister honored exemplary sanitation workers Lalita Devi, Ragini, and Geeta Devi for their outstanding contributions.
