Bhopal, August 23: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that farmers will now have the freedom to purchase fertilizers according to their needs. This initiative aims to simplify the process of obtaining fertilizers for farmers.
While addressing the Balram Agricultural Festival virtually from the Piparsama Agricultural Produce Market in Shivpuri district, CM Yadav stated that the e-Vikas system has been enhanced to be more effective, user-friendly, and farmer-centric. With e-Vikas 2.0, farmers can now acquire any fertilizer of their choice without mandatory combinations.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that a campaign to create Farmer IDs commenced on August 20. This initiative will eliminate the need for farmers to wander around or wait in long queues, as government teams will visit farmers directly to assist in the creation of their Farmer IDs.
CM Yadav reassured farmers that they need not worry about fertilizer availability. To ensure financial support, the government has decided to provide fertilizers at zero percent interest. He emphasized that no farmer should face financial stress. The hard work of Shivpuri district’s farmers has made its peanut production renowned across the country.
In his appeal to farmers, CM Yadav encouraged them not to limit themselves to traditional crops. He urged them to explore other income-generating sectors such as horticulture, dairy farming, aquaculture, and animal husbandry. He reiterated that the government stands firmly with farmers, aiming to make Shivpuri district a leader in agriculture.
The Chief Minister highlighted various welfare schemes initiated by the government to ensure profitability in the agricultural sector. He noted that previously, farmers had to repay loans by March 31, but this deadline has now been abolished. Farmers can repay their loans at any time within a year.
