Bhopal, August 25: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved a substantial budget exceeding ₹10,630 crore for various development initiatives. The meeting took place on Tuesday at the state secretariat.
During the session, key proposals aimed at enhancing infrastructure, health, cybersecurity, and social welfare were sanctioned.
To strengthen road connectivity in the state, the Cabinet approved a government guarantee for a ₹4,600 crore loan to the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) through NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance for the construction of 12 routes.
Additionally, the Cabinet decided to transfer ownership of 22 routes, including selected highways and district roads, to the MPRDC. A proposal to upgrade the 91.64 km Seoni-Balaghat road to a four-lane highway at a cost of ₹3,960 crore was also approved.
Under social and economic empowerment, ₹1,740 crore has been allocated for 19 welfare schemes targeting the underprivileged and vulnerable communities. The expansion of health and technical infrastructure includes the creation of 244 positions for the operation of the Madhya Pradesh Dhanvantari Health University in Ujjain, along with an approval of ₹80 crore for the MP-CERT scheme focused on cybersecurity management.
Furthermore, ₹250.67 crore has been earmarked for the enhancement of the Madhya Pradesh Bhawan and guest houses located in New Delhi. Amendments to the mutual land purchase policy, authorization of the EOW under the Indian Justice Code 2023, and a grant of ₹78 lakh as incentive for medal-winning players and coaches of the Women’s T20 Blind Cricket World Cup 2025 were also approved.
