Love Triangle Leads to Murder in Ranchi: Five Arrested Including a Couple

Ranchi, February 22: Authorities in Ranchi have solved the murder of a man named Asif Ansari, who was found dead on February 19 in the Anand Vihar area. The police investigation revealed that the murder stemmed from a long-standing love affair that led to a personal feud. Five individuals, including a husband and wife, have been arrested and are now in judicial custody.

During a press conference on Sunday, the Ranchi Sadar DSP reported that Asif’s body was discovered near KP School around 6:45 AM. The victim had severe head injuries, and he was later identified as Asif Ansari, a resident of Raza Colony in the Kantatoli area.

Investigations revealed that Asif had been in a relationship with Biula Toppo, a woman from Anand Vihar, for several years. Her husband, Johnson Minj, was aware of the affair and had been upset about it.

According to the police, Johnson conspired with his friend Deepak Agarwal to murder Asif. It is alleged that Johnson hired Prince Kumar and Prem Lakra to carry out the killing, paying Prince Kumar ₹1.60 lakh and Prem Lakra ₹2.40 lakh. Deepak Agarwal reportedly received about ₹4 lakh for his assistance in the plot.

The police have arrested Johnson Minj, his wife Biula Toppo, Deepak Agarwal, Prince Kumar, and Prem Lakra. They recovered a country-made firearm, a Bajaj Discover motorcycle, a scooter, a blood-stained jacket, soil with blood, and a mobile phone, all linked to the crime.

The case was cracked by a team formed under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police, utilizing technical evidence and human sources.
