Bratislava, June 15: During his visit to Slovakia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a yoga camp hosted at the Presidential Palace, alongside Slovak President Peter Pellegrini. The event saw Slovak youth practicing yoga in the presence of both leaders.
Following the yoga session, Modi held a meeting with President Pellegrini, where they exchanged gifts. In return, Pellegrini honored Modi with a gift of his own. The Prime Minister also toured an art exhibition during their meeting.
President Pellegrini expressed on social media platform ‘X’, “Today is a historic day for Slovakia. I am honored to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This marks the first official visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia. I congratulated him on becoming the longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister of India. This achievement symbolizes public trust, hard work, and dedication to the nation.”
He added, “After our remarkable meeting in New Delhi this February, we are now elevating our cooperation to a new level. Today, we discussed enhancing trade, new technologies, nuclear energy, space, and strengthening ties between our peoples. We are transforming over 30 years of diplomatic relations into a practical and robust partnership that will benefit citizens of both countries.”
The Slovak President also shared a selfie with Modi, stating, “I am pleased that Narendra Modi and I are continuing the open and friendly dialogue that began during my visit to New Delhi this February.”
Earlier in the day, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico congratulated Modi on becoming the longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister of India, describing it as a “political miracle.”
Addressing a joint press conference in Bratislava, Fico praised Modi’s leadership, noting that India has emerged as a major global power during his tenure.
Fico remarked, “I appreciate the political stability brought by the Prime Minister in India. I congratulate you on becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister.”
He further stated, “Maintaining leadership for 12 consecutive years in such a complex political environment, with multiple parties, is nothing short of a political miracle. For this, I commend you.”
Fico also lauded India’s economic progress, digital transformation, and achievements in artificial intelligence (AI), stating that India has surpassed many developed nations.
He concluded, “I congratulate you on the accomplishments achieved across various sectors, especially in digitalization and AI. You have advanced so rapidly that you have outpaced several Western European countries, such as France and Germany. India is significantly ahead compared to many developed nations.”
