Major Administrative Reshuffle in Tamil Nadu: 56 Police Officers Transferred

Chennai, June 15: The Tamil Nadu government has executed one of the largest reshuffles in the police department this year, transferring and assigning 56 police officers across the state with immediate effect.

This significant administrative change includes officers from the Greater Chennai Police, district police units, police commissionerates, special branches, and police headquarters.

The transfers aim to fill critical vacancies, strengthen the district police system, and streamline the administration of specialized units such as cybercrime, vigilance, and anti-corruption branches.

Among the key appointments, E.S. Uma has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General (Headquarters) in the Greater Chennai Police. K.S. Balla Krishnan, who served as Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) in Greater Chennai Police, has been assigned as the Deputy Commissioner of the Chennai Cyber Crime Cell.

S. Selvaraj, Deputy Commissioner of the Central Crime Branch-1, has been transferred to the position of Deputy Commissioner for Chennai High Court security. Meanwhile, S. Arokium from the Central Crime Branch-3 has been appointed as Superintendent and Assistant Inspector General in the Social Justice and Human Rights Branch.

G. Vanita, Deputy Commissioner of the Women and Child Crime Branch in Chennai, has been assigned as Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters and Administration) at the Avadi Commissionerate.

In another significant appointment, D. Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic-South in Greater Chennai Police, has been designated as Superintendent and Chief Security Officer of Chennai Metro Rail Limited. K. Muthu Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Puliyanthope, will take over as Deputy Commissioner of Traffic-South in Chennai.

G. Gopi, who was on the waiting list, has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Flower Market.

The reshuffle also includes major changes at the level of district police chiefs. S. Kuthalingam, Deputy Commissioner of T. Nagar in Chennai, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police for Salem district. A.C. Karthikeyan, Deputy Commissioner of Adyar, has been assigned as Superintendent of Police for Tiruvannamalai district.

Vivekanand Shukla, Superintendent of Police for Tiruvallur district, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police for Kuddalore district, while V.V. Sai Praneet, Superintendent of Police for Villupuram district, has been entrusted with the responsibilities of Tiruvallur district.

S. Jayaraman Kumar, Superintendent of Police for Kuddalore, has been transferred to Dindigul district. M. Sudhakar, Superintendent of Police for Tiruvannamalai district, has been appointed as Superintendent of the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Cell in Chennai.

S. Madhivanan, Deputy Commissioner of Madurai City (North), has been appointed as Superintendent of Police for Villupuram district. Gautam Goyal, Superintendent of Police for Salem district, has been designated as Superintendent of Police for Virudhunagar district.

S. Vimala, Superintendent of Police for Namakkal district, has been appointed as Superintendent in the Economic Offenses Wing at Chennai headquarters. A.K. Arun Kabilan has been designated as Superintendent of Police for Dharmapuri district, while S.S. Maheshwaran, Superintendent of Police for Dharmapuri, has been sent to Coimbatore City as Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police.

In Western Tamil Nadu, G.S. Anita has been appointed as Superintendent of Police for Krishnagiri district. P. Thangadurai, currently serving there, has been transferred to Coimbatore City (North) as Deputy Commissioner of Law and Order.

Yadav Girish Ashok, Superintendent of Police for Tiruppur district, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police for Namakkal district. N. Devanathan, Deputy Commissioner of Coimbatore City (North), has been designated as Superintendent of Police for Madurai district, taking over from B.K. Aravind, who has been sent to the Q Branch as Superintendent of Police.

K. Subramanya Balachandran has been appointed as Superintendent of Police for Nagapattinam district, while Kambham Samuel Praveen Gautam has been designated as Superintendent of Police for Theni district.

Vishwesh Balasubramanian Shastri has been appointed as Superintendent of Police for Tirunelveli district. Sujit Kumar, former Superintendent of Police for Nagapattinam district, has been assigned as Superintendent of Chennai Cyber Crime Division-1.

Bhukya Sneha Priya, Superintendent of Police for Theni district, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police for Mayiladuthurai district. T. Senthil Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Tiruchi City (North), has been designated as Superintendent of the Enforcement Wing in Chennai, while Srishti Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Tiruchi City (South), has been appointed as Superintendent of Police for Tiruppur district.

The government has also made significant changes in the vigilance, anti-corruption, and cybercrime branches. G. Nagojoti, Principal of Chennai Police Training College, has been appointed as Superintendent of the Special Investigation Unit for Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.

P. Mahendran, Superintendent of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Branch in Chennai Range, has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Salem City (South). Additionally, B. Manikandan has been designated as Deputy Commissioner of Tiruchi City (South).

Moreover, several officers waiting for postings, including E. Karthik, S. Shaktivel, S. Saravanan, S. Rajesh Kannan, G. Jawahar, and S. Selvanagarathinam, have been assigned new responsibilities in various commissionerates and special units.
