Liverpool, April 14: Liverpool will host Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield tomorrow night, seeking to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg in Paris last week.
If the Reds fail to advance, this match could mark the final Champions League appearance for Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah, both of whom are set to leave the club at the season’s end. Salah was an unused substitute in the first leg, but his strong performance against Fulham on Saturday may earn him a starting spot in Arne Slot’s lineup.
On the other hand, PSG had their league match postponed this weekend, allowing them more recovery time as they aim to defend their UCL title. Their goals in the first leg came from Désiré Doué and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, as Liverpool struggled at the Parc Des Princes.
Currently, PSG leads Ligue 1, four points ahead of Lens, with a game in hand that could further extend their lead towards a sixth consecutive title. In contrast, Liverpool has not been able to defend their Premier League title this season, sitting fifth in the league and 18 points behind leaders Arsenal.
Last season, Liverpool faced PSG in the Round of 16 and were eliminated after a penalty shootout at Anfield, where Gianluigi Donnarumma denied Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones. PSG went on to defeat Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Inter Milan to lift the trophy in Munich.
