Bhumi Pednekars Deep Connection with Rishikesh: Actress Shares the Citys Unique Charm

Mumbai, April 14: Acclaimed actress Bhumi Pednekar, known for her outstanding performances in films and OTT platforms, recently visited Rishikesh. She shared glimpses of her trip on Instagram.

In the posted video, Bhumi is seen exploring Rishikesh. During her visit, she participated in the Ganga Aarti, experiencing the divine energy of the place.

Bhumi revealed that she was en route to an event in Dehradun but felt drawn to Rishikesh. She mentioned that her first visit to the city was in 2011 when she came to bid farewell to her father. Later, she returned to shoot her debut film, “Dum Laga Ke Haisha.”

In her video post, she expressed, “I wasn’t planning to come here, but while heading to Dehradun for an event, Rishikesh called me.”

She further shared, “I came here for the first time to say goodbye to my father by the Ganga. I also had to return here for my first film shoot. Perhaps that’s why this place feels more than just a location; it feels like a home I keep returning to.”

Bhumi reflected on the healing process, stating that it isn’t always straightforward. Sometimes, it’s like finding yourself by the riverbank at six in the morning without any plans, where the river seems to know you already.

She concluded, “I consider myself very fortunate to have such a deep connection with this city.”

The 2015 Hindi romantic-comedy film “Dum Laga Ke Haisha,” featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, was the first Bollywood movie shot in the streets of Haridwar, along the banks of the Ganga, and in local homes. Directed by Sharat Katariya, it tells the love story of an uneducated man and his overweight educated wife.
