Mumbai, April 1: Mumbai, often referred to as the ‘City of Dreams,’ attracts thousands each year seeking a brighter future and success. Many arrive with skills and experience gained in their home states, preparing themselves for the challenges that Mumbai presents. Actor Jeetu Sengupta’s story aligns with this narrative.
In a recent interview, he shared that entering Bollywood was not as challenging as many perceive. A well-known figure in Bengali cinema, Sengupta has collaborated with several esteemed directors.
He explained that his previous work with notable Bengali filmmakers made his transition to Bollywood smoother. “I have worked with renowned directors like Pradeep Sarkar, Anurag Basu, Sujoy Ghosh, and Sujit Mondal, who are also quite famous in Bollywood. They understood my work ethic, which made things easier for me here,” he stated.
Sengupta views common experiences not as struggles but as a natural part of life. “It’s all about perspective. I don’t see taking an auto-rickshaw as a struggle. Millions travel this way daily. I could frame it as a hardship, but I choose not to. Therefore, I believe I haven’t faced any struggles,” he remarked.
He also credited his manager for encouraging him to take significant steps in Bollywood. “My team pushed me to reach this point, especially my manager. She inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and start working beyond Bengal. Initially, I wasn’t very eager, as I was content in my own world. But now, I’m glad I took that leap,” he added.
