New Delhi, August 24: The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, T.S. Sandhu, convened a meeting on Monday with officials from the Delhi Police, DDA, Delhi Fire Service, and MCD. The focus was on expediting ground-level results in security-related matters requiring collaboration among various agencies.
While presiding over the meeting, Sandhu emphasized the need to address critical civic and administrative priorities within set timelines in the national capital.
In a post on the social media platform X, Sandhu noted that he chaired a coordination meeting involving GNCITD, Delhi Police, DDA, MCD, and the Fire Department. He highlighted the importance of a ‘whole-of-government’ approach, especially in cases needing swift and collaborative action. This approach aims to enhance coordination among agencies, moving away from isolated efforts. The goal is to create a safer, better-managed, and ‘developed Delhi’ with clear accountability and rapid results at the grassroots level.
Earlier last week, the LG reviewed the progress of reforms aimed at easing the burden of regulations on ordinary citizens and facilitating life through deregulation.
This meeting on Friday followed discussions with Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar regarding city security and community-based safety initiatives.
In a post on X, the LG stated that the review focused on the progress of deregulation and reducing compliance burdens in Delhi. The primary aim of this initiative is to simplify life for ordinary citizens.
Sandhu further instructed all departments to complete this work swiftly and efficiently, ensuring that every reform genuinely eases daily life for Delhi residents—through reduced paperwork, faster approvals, and a system that works for them.
He stated that inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Ease of Living,’ the goal is to develop a Delhi that prioritizes its people.
