
New Delhi, June 10: On the occasion of World Groundwater Day, various political leaders across the country have urged the public to commit to water conservation and the protection of groundwater resources. Many leaders took to the social media platform X, emphasizing the importance of rainwater harvesting, planting trees, and preventing water wastage.
Kailash Vijayvargiya, a senior BJP leader and minister in the Madhya Pradesh government, stated, “Water is life; if there is water, there is a future. On World Groundwater Day, let us pledge to engage in rainwater harvesting and groundwater conservation. Scientific research indicates that rainwater plays a crucial role in replenishing groundwater levels, reducing the impact of drought, maintaining soil moisture, and safeguarding drinking water sources for the long term. Saving every drop of water today is an investment in a secure future for generations to come.”
Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel remarked, “On World Groundwater Day, let us all pledge not to waste water. We will participate in conserving water by planting more trees.”
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini extended heartfelt wishes to the residents on World Groundwater Day, stating, “Preserving nature’s water is the greatest challenge facing humanity today. Groundwater is not just a resource; it is our invaluable heritage and a safeguard for the future. Stopping its reckless exploitation and conserving every drop is our collective responsibility. Our government is also sensitive to water conservation and is continuously working towards it.”
Bihar Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha emphasized, “Water is the foundation of all living beings. Let us strengthen this foundation through water conservation and enhancement, fulfilling our moral and national responsibilities.”
Vinay Verma, a legislator from the Apna Dal (S) party, expressed, “Heartfelt wishes on World Groundwater Day. Let us pledge to conserve groundwater to save our planet.”
