Madhya Pradesh Assemblys Monsoon Session to Commence on July 20

Bhopal, June 17: The Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai Patel, has announced that the 11th session of the 16th Madhya Pradesh Assembly will commence at 11:00 AM on July 20, 2026.

This announcement was made under Article 174(1) of the Constitution and was officially notified by the Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday. The five-day session will run from July 20 to July 24, 2026.

According to the schedule released by Principal Secretary Arvind Sharma, government business will take place after question hour on all working days.

The Assembly will convene in two sessions each day—from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM and from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM—unless directed otherwise by the Speaker.

Members have been informed that notices for adjournment motions, attention motions, and matters under Rule 267 will be accepted starting July 14.

The deadline for private members to submit bills is June 24, while proposals must be submitted by July 9.

The Secretariat has issued detailed guidelines reminding members of procedural rules, including restrictions on publishing notices without the Speaker’s approval, as well as protocols for security, literature distribution, and speech updates.

Special emphasis has been placed on Rule 251, which governs decorum during debates and prohibits personal accusations, offensive language, and references to judicial matters.

This monsoon session is expected to see active participation on key governance, development, and public welfare issues.

The government is likely to present updates on major initiatives, supplementary budgets, infrastructure projects, and welfare schemes, while the opposition is expected to raise questions regarding the current challenges facing the state.
