Leaders Call for Healthy Families and Awareness on World Population Day

New Delhi, July 11: World Population Day is being observed today. The day aims to raise global awareness about critical challenges such as population growth, family planning, maternal health, gender equality, and human rights. Several leaders, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, have shared posts on social media regarding this important occasion.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “A balanced population is the foundation of a prosperous society. Let us pledge to raise awareness about population balance and family welfare on this World Population Day.”

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also took to ‘X’, writing, “On World Population Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to creating a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable future for every citizen. Through better healthcare systems, quality education, women’s empowerment, and sustainable urban development, Delhi is working to create opportunities for all and improve the quality of life.”

Rekha Gupta further added, “As we move towards a ‘Developed India’, balanced development and responsible resource management will play a key role in building a stronger and more resilient society.”

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma echoed similar sentiments on ‘X’, stating, “On the occasion of World Population Day, let us pledge to build a balanced population, healthy families, and an aware society! A balanced population is the foundation of a strong society, a prosperous nation, and sustainable development. Let us actively participate as aware citizens in building a developed India.”

Manipur Chief Minister Yumkham Khemchand Singh extended his wishes on social media, saying, “Happy World Population Day 2026 to everyone. This year’s theme, realizing the hopes and aspirations of youth – for today and the future, reminds us that we must invest in our youth through education, healthcare, equal opportunities, and the protection of their rights. Let us work together to build a healthier, more inclusive, and sustainable future.”
