KTR Calls SIT Notice to KCR ‘Politics of Revenge’

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (BRS) executive president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly criticised the Special Investigation Team (SIT) notice issued to party president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) in the phone tapping case. KTR described the notice as a “clear example of the most despicable politics of revenge.”

KTR alleged that serving the notice to KCR is an attempt by the Telangana government to cover up its failures and divert public attention from administrative shortcomings. Reacting sharply on the social media platform X, he wrote, “This is not an investigation, it is revenge. This is not justice, it is political malice.”

Speaking highly of his father and BRS leader KCR, KTR said that KCR fought with unwavering determination for Telangana, risking his life to ultimately secure statehood. He added that under KCR’s decade-long rule, Telangana gained recognition on the global stage.

KTR further described KCR as a visionary leader who cared for all sections of society and nurtured the state like a newborn, steering it on the path of development. He cited key initiatives such as the irrigation revolution, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, and Dalit Bandhu as examples of KCR’s governance.

Targeting the Congress government, KTR accused it of betraying public trust within a year of coming to power, failing entirely to implement its promises despite making false assurances and careless commitments.

KTR emphasised that KCR remains deeply rooted in the hearts of Telangana’s people, and warned that the Congress government cannot erase Telangana’s history through notices and intimidation. He cautioned, “If the Telangana movement and the state’s pride are insulted, the people themselves will give a strong response. We stand with the people and will continue to raise our voice against this unjust rule. Telangana’s history will be written not by investigations but by the will of the people.”

The SIT issued the notice to KCR on Thursday, summoning him for questioning on Friday (January 30) at 3 pm. The case relates to alleged phone tapping during the previous BRS government’s tenure, targeting political opponents, businessmen, journalists, and even judges.

Earlier, the SIT had also questioned BRS leaders and former ministers K. T. Rama Rao, T. Harish Rao, and former MP J. Santosh Rao in connection with the phone tapping allegations.
