Hyderabad, June 14: K.T. Rama Rao, the executive president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of betraying Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan on Sunday.
He claimed that Reddy filed a false case against Natarajan in Hyderabad after she provided information about his alleged corruption, particularly concerning land deals and contracts, to the Congress high command. Rao further alleged that Reddy shared details of this fabricated case with the BJP to obstruct Natarajan’s nomination for the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh.
Addressing party workers in the Khairatabad constituency, the BRS leader labeled Reddy as someone who deceives his own party members. He emphasized that the honest leader and trusted ally of Rahul Gandhi, Meenakshi Natarajan, fell victim to Reddy’s vendetta.
Rao condemned the Chief Minister’s declaration of Adolf Hitler as his ideal, calling it disgraceful for a democratic nation.
He criticized the Congress administration, describing it as a “complete flop,” asserting that the government has failed to fulfill its promises halfway through its term. He remarked that just as a film’s success or failure can be gauged from its trailer, the Congress government has been a failure from the outset. He noted that the government has not fulfilled any major promises in its first two and a half years.
Questioning the promise of creating 200,000 jobs in the first year, Rao pointed out that not even 4,000 jobs have been filled. He also targeted the government for failing to provide the promised unemployment benefit of 4,000 rupees.
On the issue of women’s welfare guarantees, Rao challenged Reddy to prove his claim of making one crore women millionaires, stating that he is ready to resign if this claim is validated. He added that the government owes each beneficiary 1.25 lakh rupees.
Rao stated that a by-election in Khairatabad is inevitable since Danam Nagender has violated the public mandate by joining the Congress. He urged party workers to remain vigilant against Congress’s attempts to manipulate voter lists, citing examples of suspicious votes in Jubilee Hills.
He instructed booth-level workers to actively participate in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) running from June 25 to July 31 and to conduct a record-level digital party membership campaign.
