Dehradun, August 1 (HS): Rain continues to lash parts of Uttarakhand, prompting the Meteorological Department to issue a yellow alert for Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, and Bageshwar districts today. These regions are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, while other districts may also experience sporadic intense showers.

In light of the weather warning, the State Disaster Management Authority has instructed district administrations to remain on high alert. Due to continuous rainfall, the Kedarnath Yatra has been suspended for the past four days. Pilgrims are being stopped at Sonprayag.
District Magistrate Prateek Jain informed that a landslide near Gaurikund has blocked the route. Efforts are underway to clear the path and resume travel.
