Bengaluru, April 8: The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has condemned Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for his remarks regarding the alleged “murders of BJP and RSS workers” in Assam. Kharge suggested that these individuals appear as “angelic terrorists” to the Congress party.
In response, senior BJP leader R. Ashok questioned Kharge’s stance, asking, “Who orchestrated the cooker bomb blast in Mangaluru? These individuals seem like angelic terrorists to him. He has not uttered a word against Maoists.”
Ashok criticized the Congress for its continuous attacks on the BJP and RSS, stating that venomous snakes are being unleashed across all states. He emphasized that the public will determine who the real snakes are, even hinting that Kharge’s son, Priyank Kharge, is encouraging such statements.
BJP legislator S. Muniraju has filed a complaint against Kharge for making offensive comments against the BJP and RSS, demanding his arrest. Muniraju alleged that during an election speech in Assam, Kharge stated that if a poisonous snake appears while praying, one should stop and kill it. He further claimed that if BJP or RSS members interrupt prayers, they should also be killed, as per the Quran.
Muniraju harshly criticized Kharge’s comments, labeling them as inflammatory and inciting violence. He warned that such remarks could lead to communal unrest and equated them to supporting anti-national and extremist elements.
He added that a delegation from the Karnataka BJP met with the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) to file a complaint regarding the matter. The DGP assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted, and appropriate action would be taken.
