Lucknow, September 1: In response to statements made by Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav regarding the actions of the STF, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Dr. Sanjay Nishad has fired back. Nishad emphasized that it is the government’s duty to maintain law and order and take action against criminals. He also shared his thoughts on an AI video related to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Nishad urged the opposition to reflect on their own tenure instead of making accusations. He referenced the Gorakhpur rail movement, questioning why protestors were shot during their administration and how their community was treated. He noted that the STF was established under previous governments, but now it operates independently, successfully punishing criminals. “Criminals have no caste, and it is the government’s responsibility to uphold law and order,” he stated.
Addressing Yadav’s claims, Nishad cited data from the Social Justice Committee, asserting that out of approximately 2.8 million government jobs, around 1.4 million belong to OBCs and 750,000 to SCs. He pointed out that his community often faces more complaints of oppression due to their landless and vulnerable status. He claimed that the police and administration are now more responsive to grievances from weaker sections than in the past. He challenged the opposition to consider why complaints are surfacing from their own ranks.
On Yadav’s accusations regarding the electoral roll, Nishad explained that improving the voter list is an independent process managed by the Election Commission. He emphasized the need to remove deceased individuals’ names, add new voters, and correct discrepancies, stating that it is inappropriate to label this as a government initiative.
Regarding allegations of discrimination against officials associated with the PDA category, Nishad referenced the tenures of the SP and BSP governments. He accused previous administrations of allowing political and caste biases in appointments. He noted that the current system has increased participation from various communities in recruitment processes, enhancing transparency and representation.
In response to Ramgopal Yadav’s claims of murder and fake encounters, Nishad reiterated the government’s “zero tolerance” policy. He stressed that the government’s goal is to provide safety, justice, and respect to the people while eliminating an atmosphere of fear. He clarified that how police apprehend criminals is part of administrative procedure.
Nishad also strongly criticized the AI video shown during Akhilesh Yadav’s press conference. He remarked that this is the land of Lord Ram, and public life should reflect decorum in language, posters, and political campaigning. He referred to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as a leader chosen by the people and the head of the Gorakhnath Peeth, asserting that portraying him in such a manner is disrespectful and inappropriate.
