Mumbai, July 30: Renowned South Indian actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan is a name that needs no introduction. He has made his mark in acting, directing, writing, and producing. With films like ‘Nayakan’, ‘Indian’, and ‘Hey Ram’, he has demonstrated his profound understanding of cinema.
Kamal is known for openly appreciating quality films, whether they are from Hollywood or Bollywood. Recently, he lauded director Christopher Nolan’s film ‘The Odyssey’, stating that it will serve as a benchmark for future cinema.
On Thursday, Kamal shared a post on his Instagram account featuring the poster of ‘The Odyssey’ along with a caption praising the film. He wrote, “Homer dreamed it. Nolan made it a reality. I applauded.”
Homer, the ancient Greek poet, penned the epic ‘Odyssey’ thousands of years ago. Kamal expressed that while Homer had only imagined the story, Christopher Nolan had the courage to bring that imagination to life on screen. He concluded by saying he applauded the effort.
In his post, Kamal added, “This film is not just for today; future generations will remember it. I urge everyone to watch it in theaters.”
Kamal also mentioned that he would soon share a special message about the film with Indian audiences. The censor board has already viewed and approved the film’s preview.
‘The Odyssey’ is based on Homer’s epic of the same name. It narrates the struggles of the hero Odysseus as he returns home after the Trojan War, facing numerous challenges along the way. Christopher Nolan is bringing this grand mythological tale to the screen for the first time, with several shots filmed using IMAX cameras.
