
Coimbatore, July 30: The second day of the 16th Hockey India Junior Men’s National Championship 2026 saw impressive victories from Hockey Rajasthan, Telangana Hockey, and Puducherry Hockey in Division ‘C’. In Division ‘B’, teams from Uttarakhand, Arunachal, and Chandigarh also claimed wins.
The day kicked off at the Coimbatore Hockey Ground with Hockey Rajasthan dominating Assam Hockey, winning 11-3 in Pool A of Division ‘C’. Mohammad Ubaid Raza scored a hat-trick (31′, 41′, 51′), while Himanshu Kumar Meena (8′, 36′), Sandeep (36′, 47′), and Bisayati Ejaz (49′, 56′) each netted two goals. Naman Patel (6′) and captain Manavendra Gurjar (40′) also contributed goals for Hockey Rajasthan. For Assam Hockey, Suraj Thakur (30′, 53′) and captain Amanat Ali (3′) found the net.
In Pool B of Division ‘C’, Telangana Hockey triumphed over Hockey Gujarat with a score of 3-1. Ganesh Ravul (13′, 55′) and Piyush (49′) scored for the winning team, while Divyeshbhai Rudhyabhai Vagh (42′) managed a consolation goal for Hockey Gujarat.
Puducherry Hockey delivered a stunning performance, defeating Tripura 7-0 in the same pool. Anbupathi (22′, 25′), Gautam (27′, 59′), Rithish (10′), Illamaran (14′), and captain Mohan Nath (28′) were the standout scorers.
The first match in Division ‘B’ featured a draw between Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Jammu & Kashmir, ending 2-2. Lakshman Chimnaji Metkar (33′) and Krishna Vitthal Rathod (53′) scored for Maharashtra, while Arjun Pandit (30′) and Harmanpreet Singh (57′) netted for Jammu & Kashmir.
In the same pool, Hockey Uttarakhand defeated Hockey Himachal 5-0. Vishal Kumar (32′, 57′), captain Sarthak Mehar (53′, 55′), and Suraj Kumar (20′) were the goal scorers for Uttarakhand.
In Pool B of Division ‘B’, Hockey Arunachal overcame Hockey Andhra Pradesh with a score of 8-2. Ali Jafar (8′, 17′) and Sujit Rajbhar (54′, 56′) each scored twice, while Samar Ali (13′), Mridul Yadav (21′), captain Pranjal Kumar Mishra (28′), and Shiva Savita (42′) added one goal each. Ramesh Kurapati (35′, 51′) scored both goals for Hockey Andhra Pradesh.
Wrapping up the day, Hockey Chandigarh secured a decisive 6-0 victory over Bihar in Pool B of Division ‘B’. Gurpreet Singh (40′, 47′, 56′), Rishabh (20′), Prabhjot Singh Saini (26′), and Dilawarpreet Singh (60′) contributed to the scoreline.
