Joint Commanders Conference of Indian Armed Forces to Feature Defense Minister

New Delhi, May 6: A joint conference of commanders from India’s three armed forces—Air Force, Navy, and Army—is set to take place. This event holds special significance as it coincides with the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor on May 7.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will participate in this conference, scheduled for May 7-8 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Military commanders will provide insights into the current status one year after Operation Sindoor.

Operation Sindoor is regarded as a symbol of India’s resolve and military capability, showcasing precise and decisive action. The conference will focus on “Military Capability in New Domains.” Senior military officials will discuss the evolving nature of modern warfare and future challenges, delving into new dimensions of contemporary combat.

According to the Ministry of Defense, today’s warfare has transcended traditional boundaries, becoming more complex and technology-driven. Special attention will be given to emerging challenges in areas such as artificial intelligence, unmanned systems, cyber warfare, space, and cognitive warfare. This platform aims to outline military capability development, strategy formulation, and the creation of a robust and capable military force for the future.

The conference will emphasize self-reliance and indigenization for military preparedness. The agenda prioritizes accelerating self-reliance in defense production, promoting innovation, strengthening the domestic defense industry, and enhancing civil-military coordination.

Defense experts assert that self-reliance in defense production is crucial for developing a strong defense ecosystem. During the conference, advanced and future technologies developed by the armed forces will be showcased. Additionally, documents related to new theories and operational strategies for future warfare will be released.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh met with Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang in New Delhi on Wednesday. The meeting focused on strengthening defense cooperation between the two nations.

After the meeting, the Defense Minister remarked that India and Vietnam have maintained strong ties for a long time. Recent developments reflect positive progress in bilateral cooperation, and he expressed hope for deepening this strategic partnership in the future.
