Jaipur, 05 January 2026 (Daily Kiran) – The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) made a significant arrest by catching Vinod Kumar, a technician posted at Jodhpur Discom’s sub-division office in Sridungargarh, Bikaner district, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,45,000. This operation was carried out by the ACB Churu unit under the directives of the ACB headquarters.
ACB Director General of Police Govind Gupta stated that the Churu unit received a complaint alleging that Vinod Kumar was demanding continuous bribes to facilitate the name change in an agricultural electricity connection registered in the complainant’s father’s name. Additionally, he was accused of reducing and submitting a lower Vigilance Control Report (VCR) amount in exchange for bribes.
After a secret verification of the complaint and the bribery demand, the ACB planned a trap operation. On 05 January 2026, Vinod Kumar was caught accepting Rs 1,45,000 from the complainant at the Jodhpur Discom sub-division office in Sridungargarh. The entire bribe amount was recovered from the pocket of the pants worn by the accused at the time of the arrest.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of ACB Bikaner Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav and the direction of ACB Churu Additional Superintendent of Police Mahaveer Prasad Sharma. The trap team was led by Police Inspector Mahendra Kumar, with necessary legal proceedings ongoing at the site.
Currently, interrogation and further legal action against the accused are underway under the supervision of ACB Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation will proceed accordingly.
