João Pedro Signs New Contract with Chelsea Until 2034

London, August 22: Chelsea forward João Pedro has signed a new contract with the Premier League club, extending his stay until 2034. The club announced this development on Saturday.

The Brazilian player joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2025 and made an immediate impact. He played a crucial role in helping the club win the FIFA Club World Cup.

Pedro scored two goals in the semifinals against his former club Fluminense and netted another in the final against Paris Saint-Germain, leading London to victory.

In his first full season at Chelsea, the 23-year-old maintained impressive form, scoring 20 goals across all competitions. He was voted the club’s ‘Player of the Season’ by supporters. Pedro also scored Chelsea’s first goal of the 2025/26 season in an away match against West Ham United and netted the only goal in a win against Tottenham Hotspur.

He made his mark in the UEFA Champions League as well, scoring twice in Chelsea’s victory over Napoli.

After extending his contract, Pedro expressed his happiness, stating, “I am very pleased to sign a new contract with Chelsea. I have always dreamed of playing for a big club, and showing my long-term commitment to this club means a lot to me. Chelsea has a rich history of winning and has big goals for the future.”

Pedro also shared his excitement for the upcoming season under new manager Xabi Alonso, saying, “Everyone is very excited for this season. We know we can achieve a lot. We have a great team and a coach who wants to win and has done so before. I am fully committed, everyone is ready, and hopefully, we can achieve our goals.”

Chelsea, who finished 10th last season, will kick off their 2026-27 Premier League campaign against Fulham on August 24.
