Ranchi, August 4: The draft voter list for Jharkhand will be released on August 5 as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program. This list, along with the ‘ASDD’ (Absent, Shifted, Dead, and Duplicate) list, will be available both online and offline across all assembly constituencies in the state.
Eligible Indian citizens whose names are not on the list can apply to add their names by filling out Form-6 starting August 5. Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar shared this information on Tuesday. He emphasized that the voter list prepared under the special revision is a crucial document and will remain significant in the future. He urged all eligible citizens to check their names on the voter list and complete the process to add their names if they are missing.
After the draft voter list is released, every voter can verify their name and other details. If an eligible citizen’s name is absent, they can fill out Form-6 to apply for inclusion. The Election Commission of India’s ECI Net app is also available for this purpose, allowing voters to view the list and apply online.
The Chief Electoral Officer encouraged people to raise awareness among their families, neighbors, friends, and other eligible citizens about adding their names to the voter list and correcting any errors. He announced that on August 5, from 11 AM to 1 PM, the Chief Electoral Officer’s office will run a social media campaign under the hashtag ‘NewVoters’.
During this time, voters, representatives from educational institutions, political parties, BLOs, volunteers, and other stakeholders are invited to share photos and videos related to the electoral process on social media using the hashtag.
K. Ravi Kumar stated that having every eligible citizen’s name recorded in the voter list is a necessary step toward strengthening democracy. He urged people to fulfill their voter-related responsibilities promptly and encourage others to do the same.
