Jharkhand Police Rescue Abducted Minors, Arrest Two in West Bengal

Giridih police have successfully recovered two abducted minor girls from Jharkhand’s Giridih district. The accused were arrested from Haldia in West Bengal, officials confirmed.

According to Rajendra Prasad, SDPO of Khori Mahua subdivision, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed on January 23 at Tisri police station regarding the abduction of the two minors. The complaint named one suspect. Following orders from the Superintendent of Police, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to probe the case.

The SIT, while investigating, tracked the minors to West Bengal using technical surveillance. The team then conducted a raid near Dumri toll tax in Haldia, where truck driver Amit Kumar and the main accused, Chhote Lal, were taken into custody. During interrogation, both suspects disclosed details about the abducted girls.

Acting on the accused’s information, the police rescued the girls unharmed and brought them to Tisri police station where further legal procedures are underway. The police have taken Chhote Lal, a resident of Rokri in Farrukhabad, and Amit Kumar from Patiala into judicial custody.

Rajendra Prasad added that the police seized mobile phones and a truck from the accused. Investigations are ongoing to uncover all aspects related to the abduction. The rescue operation was led by Tisri police station in-charge Ranjay Kumar.
