JD(U) Surpasses One Million Members, Pledges to Build a Developed Bihar: Nishant Kumar

Patna, June 21: The national council meeting of the Janata Dal (United) concluded in Patna today. Following the meeting, senior party leaders unanimously endorsed Nitish Kumar’s re-election as national president. They also expressed full support for the election of state president Umesh Kushwaha.

Health Minister Nishant Kumar spoke to reporters after the meeting, stating, “Everyone has approved Umesh Kushwaha’s election as state president. The endorsement of Nitish Kumar as national president has also been confirmed. Our party is a platform for secular and socialist activists. We must work together to strengthen the party and spread our father’s ideology to the masses.”

He expressed satisfaction with the party’s membership, noting that the JD(U) now has over one million members. Thanking the people of Bihar, he said, “Our responsibilities have increased. We must work together to create a developed and prosperous Bihar and elevate the pride of Bihar to new heights.”

Senior JD(U) leader and Bihar government minister Madan Sahni provided details about the meeting, revealing that the proposal to re-elect Nitish Kumar as national president was passed during the national council meeting. He noted that Kumar assured all members of his commitment to extensively tour Bihar and engage directly with party workers.

Madan Sahni also mentioned that a significant decision was made to strengthen the party under the leadership of Health Minister Nishant Kumar, alongside executive president Sanjay Jha and other top leaders.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary remarked, “The meeting discussed several important issues in detail. Nitish Kumar’s re-election as national president was approved by the national council, which is a matter of joy for all workers. Health Minister Nishant Kumar actively participated in the meeting, generating new enthusiasm among the workers. We all believe that the JD(U) will perform even better in the future.”
