Patna, April 4: JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad has hit back at Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s comments regarding Muslim voters. Prasad stated that Muslim voters will participate in the mainstream and that this time, the decision in Bengal will favor the BJP.
Chowdhury, a leader from Congress’s Bengal unit, claimed that Muslim votes would go to either the TMC or Congress, depending on the perceived chances of winning.
In response, Prasad told a news agency, “Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is avoiding comments on the sinking ship that is Congress. In reality, both TMC and Congress are part of the ‘Indi’ alliance, yet they are fighting against each other.”
He further asserted, “It is certain that Muslims will vote like other religious communities in the country. They do not trust Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal. Perhaps that is why several figures have emerged claiming to lead the Muslims. However, the decision will hinge on issues like employment, development, and who can revive closed factories. Muslims will also vote while remaining in the mainstream. The decision in Bengal appears to be leaning towards the BJP.”
Prasad also reacted to the statement made by the Chief Imam of the All India Imam Organization, Umar Ahmed Ilyasi, regarding the belief that “POK will soon be part of India.”
He remarked, “Historically, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is a part of India. On several occasions, the Indian government has reiterated its stance on this issue. The current sentiment among the people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is that, considering the changes and development in Kashmir, they believe India has done better for the welfare of the Kashmiri people.”
The JD(U) spokesperson noted, “There has been progress in tourism. Employment is increasing. Therefore, the people there feel that Pakistan has deceived them. If their sentiments are gauged, they believe their future lies in joining India.”
Meanwhile, Prasad commented on the case of Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, stating, “Leaders like Kumar Vishwas, Shazia Ilmi, Prashant Bhushan, and Yogendra Yadav contributed significantly to the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party, but they have all left one by one. Now, Raghav Chadha has emerged as a key strategist. However, distances are growing between him and Arvind Kejriwal. There is a crisis of trust within the Aam Aadmi Party, which could lead to a deep rift in the future.”
