JD(U) Spokesperson Criticizes Congress, Claims Party is Directionless

JD(U) spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan asserts Congress struggles for relevance under Rahul Gandhis leadership, questioning its direction.

Patna, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : Rajeev Ranjan, spokesperson for the Janata Dal (United), recently targeted the Congress Party and its leader Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that a comeback for Congress seems increasingly unlikely. According to Ranjan, the party has been losing its influence, particularly with Gandhi at the helm. He described Congress as grappling with a lack of direction, asserting that Gandhi has not effectively revitalized the party.

Ranjan acknowledged Congress’s significant historical role in India’s independence movement and its dominance in politics for nearly six decades post-independence. However, he noted that over time, the party’s standing has weakened considerably.

He raised concerns about why a party that once held a commanding position in Indian politics is now struggling to maintain its relevance and influence. Ranjan also questioned the effectiveness of the current leadership in reviving the party’s fortunes.

In response to remarks made by JD(U) legislator Anant Singh, Ranjan defended the political legacy of Nitish Kumar, a former Chief Minister of Bihar and the national president of JD(U). He emphasized Kumar’s nearly 50-year unblemished parliamentary career, praising his clean image and commitment to non-violent politics.

Ranjan insisted that the party does not place undue importance on Singh’s comments, linking Kumar’s extensive political experience and integrity to the party’s identity.

Meanwhile, in Sitamarhi, JD(U) candidate Abhishek Jha is actively campaigning for the upcoming MLC elections in the Tirhut Graduate constituency, seeking voter support. He stated that he has been working to raise awareness among the electorate and noted a significant increase in voter registration in the area.

Jha highlighted that senior leaders from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) are also campaigning across all four districts in the Tirhut region. He expressed confidence that the public has consistently supported the NDA. Voting is scheduled for October 23, from 8 AM to 4 PM. Jha urged voters to prioritize him with their votes to allow him to serve the community effectively.

In response to comments made by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, JD(U) National General Secretary Shyam Rajak remarked that the issues at hand are not about Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Iran, or Ukraine. He asserted that the public is wise enough to discern the truth and will not be misled by anyone, including Rahul Gandhi.

Addressing protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Rajak affirmed that everyone has the right to protest in the country. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of the administration and government to ensure that citizens can express their views without facing any disruptions, while maintaining public order.
