Delhi Court Issues Bail Warrant Against YouTuber Dhruv Rathee in Defamation Case

A Delhi court has issued a bail warrant against YouTuber Dhruv Rathee in a defamation case filed in 2018.

New Delhi, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : A Delhi court in Saket has issued a bail warrant against YouTuber Dhruv Rathee in connection with a defamation case from 2018. The lawsuit was filed by Vikas Sankrityayan, also known as Vikas Pandey.

During a recent hearing, the complainant’s attorney informed the court that a process server found Rathee’s residence locked while attempting to deliver a notice. Consequently, the court issued the warrant and scheduled the next hearing for October 31.

Previously, on October 12, the court had issued fresh summons to Rathee, which are linked to case number 5786/2018. This case originated from a video Rathee posted in May 2018 titled “BJP IT Cell Part-2.”

The complainant, Vikas Sankrityayan, is the founder of a social media page named “I Support Narendra Modi.” In his video, Rathee alleged that Pandey held a senior position in the BJP IT Cell and had offered ₹50 lakh to a person named Mahavir Prasad to retract statements related to spreading fake news.

Rathee first received a summons from the Saket court in July 2019. However, the notices remained unserved for years as he primarily resides abroad. The recent order came after the complainant’s attorney filed for an early hearing, stating that Rathee was currently in India and residing in Gurugram, Haryana.

As of now, Rathee is in London, as he disclosed in a recent post on X on Saturday.
