Jammu and Kashmir Court Orders Appearance of Hizbul Chief Syed Salahuddin and Three Others on July 14

Srinagar, June 12: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) enforced a court order on Friday, which mandated the appearance of four terrorists, including the chief commander of the banned terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen, in court.

According to a statement from CIK, the order was issued by the Additional Sessions Judge in Srinagar under TADA/POTA (NIA Act) concerning FIR number 05/1996. This proclamation order was issued under Section 84 of the Indian National Security Code (BNS-2023).

The four terrorists named in the order are: Mohammad Yusuf Shah, also known as Syed Salahuddin (father: Ghulam Rasool Shah, resident of Soibugh, Budgam), a declared terrorist and chairman of the United Jihad Council (UJC); Ghulam Nabi Khan, known as Amir Khan (father: Ghulam Rasool Khan, resident of Liver Shrigufwara, Anantnag), a declared terrorist and commander of Hizbul Mujahideen; Sher Mohammad, also known as Bahadur or Riyaz (father: Sher Ahmad, resident of Malangam, Bandipora); and Nasir Yusuf Qadri (father: Mohammad Yusuf Qadri, resident of Sheeltang, Dar Mohalla, Habba Kadal, Srinagar).

During the investigation, the accused were evading arrest and deliberately avoiding legal action. Based on this, the court initiated the proclamation process, directing the accused to appear before the court on July 14 at 10 AM. Failure to comply will result in further legal action.

In compliance with the court’s orders, the CIK team strictly followed all legal procedures to implement the proclamation order. Notices were posted at the accused’s residences and other significant locations.

According to the Counter Intelligence statement, images and videos of the proclamation’s issuance were also captured. Reports indicate that all four terrorists are currently hiding in Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PoK).

The Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces are conducting robust operations against terrorists in the region, targeting terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), and supporters. These coordinated efforts aim to dismantle the support system for terrorism in the Union Territory.
