New Delhi, August 26: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed their sorrow over the tragic bus accident in the Suryapet district of Telangana, which resulted in the deaths of six passengers. They also wished for the swift recovery of the injured.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan took to the social media platform ‘X’ to share his condolences, stating, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic road accident in Suryapet, Telangana. My heartfelt sympathies are with the affected families. I wish for the quick recovery of the injured.”
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Narendra Modi expressed his grief upon learning about the incident. He said, “My condolences are with those who have lost their loved ones. I am praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
The accident occurred early Wednesday morning on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway when a private bus collided with a container. Reports indicate that the bus was en route from Hyderabad to Vijayawada when it crashed into the container ahead. The impact was so severe that the front of the bus was severely damaged.
At the time of the accident, there were 42 passengers on board. Six individuals lost their lives, while approximately 20 others sustained injuries. Upon arrival, police secured the bodies and rushed the injured to the nearest hospital. Three of the injured are reported to be in critical condition and have been transferred to Vijayawada for further treatment.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao expressed his condolences regarding the road accident in Suryapet. As per the Chief Minister’s Office, he extended deep sympathies to the families of the deceased and instructed the Chief Secretary to ensure better medical care for the injured.
