New York (USA), September 26 (Udaipur Kiran News). External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar strongly criticised nations that follow double standards on terrorism while addressing the G-20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting held on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly session on Thursday. Though he did not name any country, Jaishankar made it clear that terrorism remains the biggest obstacle to global development.

The meeting was hosted by South Africa. Jaishankar said, “In the current politically and economically unstable global situation, G-20 members have a special responsibility to strengthen stability and guide the world towards a more positive direction. Terrorism is the biggest threat to development. The world must neither tolerate nor support it. Those who act against terrorists in any form are rendering a great service to the international community.”

Later, speaking at an Observer Research Foundation programme, Jaishankar highlighted the rising demand for a global workforce in today’s changing world. He noted that due to national demographics, many countries fail to meet this demand. His remarks came amid global trade and tariff challenges, as well as the United States’ stricter immigration stance, including the recent $100,000 fee imposed on H-1B visas.

He further pointed out that while the past few years saw concerns over supply chains and sources of production, nations must now also prepare for uncertainties regarding market access.
