Israels Netanyahu Orders Strikes on Hezbollah Positions

Tel Aviv, June 1: Israel has decided to launch attacks on Hezbollah positions. According to a statement from the Prime Minister‘s office, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have instructed the military to target locations in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahieh.

In a post on X, it was noted that in response to attacks on Israeli cities, Netanyahu and the Defense Minister ordered strikes on Hezbollah’s positions.

Earlier, Prime Minister Netanyahu alleged via an official post that Hezbollah has been continuously violating the ceasefire and persisting with attacks on Israeli cities. In response, he directed the military to take action.

The post stated, “In response to Hezbollah’s repeated attacks and targeting of our citizens, I have ordered the IDF, in coordination with Defense Minister Israel Katz, to strike at terrorist positions in the Dahieh area of Beirut.”

Meanwhile, according to Lebanon’s state news agency NNA, Israeli attacks have resulted in six fatalities. Reports indicate that two people were killed in an Israeli drone strike in the southern Lebanese town of Barka’a. Additionally, a Syrian national lost his life in a drone attack in the nearby town of Tula. NNA reported that three more people died during overnight attacks in the town of Kafarsir, located north of the Litani River.

In the meantime, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has emphasized the need for peace talks. He is working to advance a U.S. proposal and seeks agreement from Nabih Berri, the Speaker of Parliament closely associated with Hezbollah. Al Jazeera reported that a U.S. official stated Berri claimed he could guarantee Hezbollah’s commitment to a ceasefire, but the primary condition is that Israel must cease its fire.
