Tehran, May 6: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has declared that with “aggressive threats” now ineffective, the passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz will remain secure and stable.
The IRGC Navy expressed gratitude to ship captains and owners in the Gulf and Oman Gulf who have cooperated with new Iranian regulations while navigating this vital maritime route.
According to a statement released on X, following the implementation of new protocols, a safe passage will be ensured for “flawless” vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
However, certain conditions have been highlighted. The IRGC issued guidelines for ships passing through this waterway, warning that vessels carrying weapons or ammunition for U.S. military forces may be stopped.
This announcement follows a post by former President Trump, where he mentioned a temporary halt to Project Freedom. He stated on Tuesday evening that this decision was made at the request of Pakistan and other countries, considering the ongoing progress towards a potential peace agreement with Iran.
Trump noted that “Project Freedom” is being paused for some time to assess whether a final agreement with Iran can be reached. Nevertheless, U.S. pressure and blockades on Iranian ports will continue for now.
It’s important to note that the Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical oil transport routes, through which a significant portion of global oil supply passes. Increased tensions in this region could directly impact international energy markets and maritime security.
