Irans President Urges US to Change Its Approach and Language

Tehran, August 25: Iranian President Masoud Pajeshkian has stated that the United States must alter its language and perspective towards Iran. According to a statement released on the presidential office’s website, Pajeshkian made these remarks during a meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in Tehran on Monday.

He emphasized that relying on pressure and threatening policies from the US will only complicate matters further. Pajeshkian insisted that the US should fulfill its responsibilities towards Iran based on the country’s legitimate rights and international regulations.

He expressed hope that the goals outlined in the peace memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the US and Iran could be achieved through the joint will and cooperation of both nations.

This MoU was signed on June 18, requiring both countries to reach a final agreement through negotiations within 60 days. This period ended on August 17.

According to a report from Xinhua News Agency, the future of these talks remains uncertain following recent escalations in tensions between the two nations.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Baghaei, stated on Monday that Iran will not allow the war to end on terms set by the “aggressive side.”

During a weekly press conference in Tehran, Baghaei asserted that while Iran did not initiate the war, it will not permit the conclusion of the conflict to be dictated by the aggressors.

He affirmed Iran’s full commitment to defending its territory and sovereignty, stating that the country will neither compromise with the “aggressive sides” nor yield to their “excessive demands.”

Baghaei also dismissed US claims that the Strait of Hormuz is open and that millions of barrels of oil pass through daily.

Additionally, he criticized the recent US economic actions against Iran, stating that Tehran will utilize all its multilateral capabilities to counter these sanctions. He noted that these restrictions are detrimental to free trade and the sovereignty of nations.

The spokesperson warned that countries cooperating with the US in its anti-Iran actions may face consequences. He labeled the US naval blockade as an “aggressive action.”
