Tehran, April 26: Iran’s primary military command, the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, has issued a stern warning. If the United States continues its “blockade, looting, and maritime interference” in the West Asia region, Iran will respond decisively.
According to Iranian media, the U.S. has imposed a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting the movement of ships to and from Iranian ports. Additionally, actions have been taken against vessels heading to Iran in recent days.
Iran cautioned the U.S. that its military is now stronger and more prepared than ever. The Iranian forces are fully capable of defending the country’s sovereignty, interests, and regional integrity. The statement also noted that during recent conflicts, the U.S. military has witnessed a portion of Iran’s strength and attack capabilities.
The Iranian military stated it is closely monitoring enemy activities in the region and maintaining control over the Hormuz Strait. Should the U.S. and Israel launch further attacks, Iran is ready to inflict even greater damage.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia-linked news channel Al Arabiya reported that Iran is not willing to negotiate under the conditions set by the U.S.
In a related development, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi met with Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir on Saturday. During this meeting, they shared thoughts on ending the war.
Araghchi arrived in Islamabad on Friday night with a delegation. They discussed issues such as ceasefire negotiations with the U.S. and Israel, ending the war, and enhancing peace and stability in the region, as reported by the semi-official news agency Tasnim.
Since February 28, Iran has tightened its control over the Hormuz Strait, banning the passage of vessels associated with the U.S. and Israel. This action followed joint attacks on Iran by both countries.
After nearly 40 days of conflict, a ceasefire was reached on April 8 between Iran, the U.S., and Israel. Subsequently, extensive talks took place in Islamabad on April 11-12, but no agreement was reached. Following this, the U.S. enforced its blockade in the waterway.
Reports indicated that another peace talk might occur in Pakistan this week, but Iran declined to participate. Iran stated that the ongoing U.S. naval blockade and its “more stringent” conditions are the primary reasons for its refusal.
