Iran Denies Involvement in Recent Attacks on Turkey and Oman

Tehran, March 21: Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has denied any involvement in recent attacks on parts of Turkey and Oman. He stated that these assaults were not carried out by Iranian armed forces or their allies.

In a statement published on a website, Khamenei made these remarks during a message congratulating the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, which symbolizes the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the Iranian New Year, Nowruz, on March 21.

According to a report by the Xinhua News Agency, Khamenei emphasized that Iran maintains good relations with both Turkey and Oman. He warned against Israel’s “trickery,” suggesting that it may resort to “false flag” operations to sow discord among neighboring countries. He added that such operations could also occur in other nations.

Highlighting the importance of relations with neighboring countries, he called for improved ties with Afghanistan and Pakistan, expressing readiness to take necessary steps in this direction.

The Iranian leader also stressed the need to enhance the living standards of citizens and improve the country’s infrastructure, focusing on public welfare and wealth creation. He declared the new year as a year of resistance economy in the spirit of national unity.

Meanwhile, NATO has deployed an additional Patriot air defense system in Turkey’s southern Adana province. According to Turkey’s Ministry of Defense, this move follows the interception of a ballistic missile launched from Iran last week.

Rear Admiral Jeki Akturk, a spokesperson for Turkey’s Ministry of Defense, stated in a press conference, “In addition to the national measures taken to ensure the safety of our airspace and citizens, another Patriot system deployed by Allied Air Command in Ramstein, Germany, is being stationed in Adana to support the existing Spanish Patriot system.”

Akturk noted that a missile launched from Iran on March 13 had entered Turkish airspace, which was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense units over the eastern Mediterranean.

It is important to mention that on February 28, Israel and the United States conducted joint attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities, resulting in the deaths of Iran’s then-Supreme Leader Khamenei, along with numerous senior military commanders and civilians. In retaliation, Iran targeted Israeli and U.S. bases and assets in the Middle East with missile and drone strikes.
