Kolkata, March 23: The political atmosphere in West Bengal is heating up as the assembly elections approach. Senior BJP leader and candidate from Bhawanipur, Suvendu Adhikari, has launched a direct attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, asserting that the lotus will bloom in Bhawanipur, and nothing can stop it.
Adhikari stated that the environment in Bhawanipur is favorable for the BJP, which has made Mamata Banerjee anxious. He confidently declared, “The lotus will definitely bloom here.”
Speaking to the media in Kolkata, Adhikari emphasized that the BJP is taking the elections in Bhawanipur very seriously and is certain of victory. He cited significant reasons for the BJP’s success, such as public dissatisfaction with the current government and the unity of the Sanatani community. He predicted a definitive defeat for the TMC in the Bengal elections.
Responding to Mamata Banerjee’s statements, Adhikari suggested that her comments stem from fear. “It is evident that she is speaking out of fear,” he remarked.
The Bhawanipur constituency is witnessing a tough contest between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari. Banerjee has raised concerns about potential electoral irregularities in this seat.
Voting in Bhawanipur is scheduled for April 29 during the second phase of elections. The TMC has planned a month-long campaign, with Banerjee addressing rallies across the state.
Reports indicate that she has instructed party workers to remain vigilant from the day of voting through the counting process, warning against any alleged irregularities.
This time, the TMC has urged its members to be cautious about power outages, emphasizing that attempts to overturn the mandate could occur later.
Voting for the Bengal assembly will take place in two phases, with results to be announced on May 4.
