IPL 2026: Rahane-Raghuwanshi Duo Sets Record Against LSG

Kolkata, April 9: In the 15th match of IPL 2026, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) faced off against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Eden Gardens on Thursday. The partnership between captain Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuwanshi has set a remarkable record for KKR, marking the second-largest partnership against LSG.

After losing the toss, KKR batted first but had a shaky start. Finn Allen was dismissed for just 9 runs, caught by Digvijay Rathi off Prince Yadav’s bowling. However, Rahane and Raghuwanshi steadied the innings, putting together 84 runs for the second wicket in just 52 balls. This partnership is now the second-highest for KKR against LSG for any wicket. Rahane scored 41 runs off 24 balls, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes, while Raghuwanshi contributed 45 runs off 33 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes.

The record for the highest partnership for KKR against LSG is held by Shreyas Iyer and Phil Salt, who formed an unbeaten 120-run stand for the third wicket in 2024. Rinku Singh struggled with the bat as well, getting bowled out for just 4 runs by Avesh Khan.

KKR made one change to their playing eleven for this match, with Sunil Narine returning after recovering from injury. Blessing Muzarabani was benched for this game. However, Varun remains unavailable due to a finger injury.

KKR is still in search of their first win in IPL 2026. Under Rahane’s captaincy, the team has played three matches so far, losing the first two and sharing points in the last match against Punjab Kings due to rain.
