
Patna, June 21: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, various districts in Bihar, including the capital Patna, hosted collective yoga camps and special events on Sunday. Citizens, public representatives, officials, and dignitaries from various fields participated enthusiastically, practicing different yoga postures and pledging to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
At the state-level yoga event held at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary participated in the yoga session. Central Minister Lalan Singh, Health Minister Nishant Kumar, and former Minister Mangal Pandey, along with a large number of public representatives and administrative officials, were present. Chief Minister Chaudhary extended his best wishes to the people of Bihar on International Yoga Day.
He emphasized that yoga is not merely a physical exercise but an effective means for mental balance, spiritual peace, and a positive lifestyle. He noted that yoga is a part of India’s ancient cultural heritage, which has shown the world the path to a healthy and balanced life.
In a message shared on his social media platform ‘X’, the Chief Minister stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, yoga has gained global recognition, leading to the United Nations designating June 21 as International Yoga Day. He mentioned that millions worldwide are incorporating yoga into their daily routines, moving towards a healthy, balanced, and positive life.
During the event, Health Minister Nishant Kumar urged the Chief Minister to include yoga in the curriculum of all schools and colleges in Bihar. He suggested that educational institutions hold daily sessions of yoga, meditation, and yoga nidra for half an hour. He proposed that participation should be optional, allowing students to join as per their interest.
Meanwhile, Central Minister Giriraj Singh practiced yoga in Muzaffarpur, while Bihar’s Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha participated in a program organized by the Vashisht Yoga Institute at the Sandis Compound in Bhagalpur. He stated that yoga is an invaluable heritage of India’s eternal culture, balancing body, mind, and soul while infusing positive energy into life.
The Bhagalpur event saw the presence of former Central Minister Ashwini Choubey, MLA Rohit Pandey, Legislative Council member N.K. Yadav, and yoga guru Vashisht, among other dignitaries. Speakers urged the public to incorporate yoga into their daily lives and commit to building a healthy, disease-free, and happy life.
