Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Highlights Indias Progress Amid Opposition Criticism

Bikaner, June 21: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with several leaders and representatives, participated in a yoga session at Karni Stadium.

In a conversation with reporters, Rail Minister Vaishnaw addressed Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to Kota and his travels across the country. He emphasized that the current government is continuously working to strengthen the future of youth through initiatives like startups, a new education policy, and the establishment of new universities. He noted significant improvements in technical education and the creation of new job opportunities.

“Ten to twelve years ago, India had no identity in electronics; today, 2.5 million people are employed in this sector. Previously, defense production was unthinkable in India; now, we are set to become a defense exporter instead of relying solely on imports,” he stated.

Vaishnaw mentioned that 150 locomotives are being exported from factories in Bihar, a feat that was rare to imagine a decade ago. He attributed this progress to a leadership that thinks ahead and works for the present while being connected to the ground realities.

Responding to the opposition’s claims of no progress, Vaishnaw urged them to reflect on their 60 years of governance and compare it with the last 12 years. He pointed out that during Congress’s tenure, Rajasthan received minimal railway budget allocations, whereas Prime Minister Narendra Modi now allocates ₹10,000 crores. He asserted that the railway tracks built in Rajasthan over the past 12 years surpass those constructed in the previous 60 years. “Let the opposition remain enchanted by their illusions. We are focused on our work,” he added.

In a significant announcement for Bikaner travelers, the Rail Minister launched a new daily train service to Ahmedabad. During the event, Minister Meghwal raised the demand to connect Bikaner with Chandigarh. Vaishnaw promptly instructed railway officials to survey the Bikaner-Chandigarh route, emphasizing the need for coordination between North Western Railway and Northern Railway to assess train capacity on this route. He assured that train services to Chandigarh would commence as soon as the route is cleared. Additionally, he revealed that India’s first bullet train is set to run by 2027.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal discussed the importance of maintaining health through yoga. He stated, “The path shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now being followed worldwide. We must practice yoga as per a protocol. Yoga is not just about physical exercises; it signifies the union of the soul with the Supreme. Through pranayama, we can keep our bodies healthy, balance our minds, make sound decisions, and achieve inner satisfaction. This is the essence of today’s program.”
