International Yoga Day: 40 Events Planned in New Delhi, JP Nadda to Attend Main Program

New Delhi, June 20: The Dean of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Prof. Mahesh Vyas, announced that New Delhi will host special events for International Yoga Day at 40 different locations. A significant program will take place at Janpath, featuring Union Minister JP Nadda.

In an exclusive interview, Prof. Vyas extended greetings for International Yoga Day to the entire world. He emphasized that Yoga Day will be celebrated globally on June 21. The All India Institute of Ayurveda will also organize events to mark the occasion.

He highlighted that 40 separate events are planned across New Delhi. On this day, Union Health Minister JP Nadda will be present at Janpath to oversee the main program. Prof. Vyas expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for promoting yoga worldwide, stating, “In our country, we have a saying: practice yoga daily to ward off diseases. Anyone who practices yoga will undoubtedly remain healthy.”

This year, the Ministry of AYUSH has introduced the theme ‘Yoga 365,’ which encourages daily yoga practice. Prof. Vyas noted that practicing yoga can lead to healthy families, societies, nations, and ultimately a healthy world.

He also mentioned that the main event will be held in Kolkata this year. Each year, the primary celebration of International Yoga Day occurs in different locations. Typically, two main events are scheduled in the morning: first, a speech by PM Modi inspiring the nation to practice yoga, followed by a 45-minute yoga protocol that everyone can participate in. This protocol will be available on YouTube and TV channels.

Prof. Vyas urged those unable to attend the yoga programs to follow the protocol at home. He encouraged everyone to embrace yoga and promote health within their families.
