IndusInd Bank Shares Plummet Over 6% Following Q1 Results

Mumbai, July 23: IndusInd Bank’s shares fell by more than 6% in early trading on Thursday after the release of its first-quarter results for the fiscal year 2026-27. The stock dropped to an intraday low of ₹999.25, reflecting a decline of 6.30% on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). As of the time of reporting, the shares were trading at ₹1,004.30, down by 6.13%.

This decline occurred despite the bank reporting a consolidated net profit of ₹1,037.05 crore, up from ₹604.07 crore in the same quarter last year. The bank also saw a 21% reduction in provisions and contingencies, which fell to ₹1,384 crore, providing some support to its profit margins.

The bank’s net interest income (NII) rose by 1% year-on-year to ₹4,685 crore, while the gross non-performing asset (GNPA) ratio improved to 3.25%. Additionally, gross slippage decreased significantly from ₹2,567 crore a year ago to ₹1,660 crore.

In June, IndusInd Bank’s shares faced pressure amid reports of alleged insider trading and corporate governance irregularities. A whistleblower had submitted complaints to various government agencies, including the Prime Minister‘s Office (PMO) and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), alleging insider trading, manipulation of financial records, and suppression of audit findings.

The shares of IndusInd Bank reached a 52-week high of ₹1,077.80 and a low of ₹710.85 on the BSE.
