Indore Unveils New Terminal: A Major Step Towards Enhanced Connectivity

Indore, March 29: The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, inaugurated the new Terminal-1 at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore on Sunday. This new terminal provides modern facilities for the residents of the city and the entire Malwa region.

Constructed at a cost of approximately ₹50 crore, the new terminal is expected to significantly improve passenger amenities and increase the airport’s annual handling capacity.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that the government’s goal is to establish an airport every 150 kilometers, an airstrip every 75 kilometers, and a helipad every 45 kilometers throughout the state.

This ambitious plan aims to enhance regional connectivity and boost tourism, trade, and economic development, especially in smaller towns and rural areas. The state is making rapid progress in this direction under its new civil aviation policy.

Speaking about the development of Indore Airport, the Chief Minister emphasized that passenger facilities are continuously being upgraded to make air travel more accessible and comfortable. The new Terminal-1 will further strengthen Indore’s position on the national and international aviation map.

He also presented the Quality Certificate of Registration awarded to Indore Airport by the American Quality Council and congratulated airport officials for this recognition. The Union Minister of Civil Aviation, K. Ram Mohan Naidu, participated virtually in the inauguration ceremony.

The Chief Minister noted that the substantial package received from the central government for expanding road, rail, and aviation infrastructure, along with expressways, is transforming Madhya Pradesh into the country’s logistics hub. The inauguration of Terminal-1 is a significant step towards becoming a leading aviation and connectivity center in India.

Indore MP Shankar Lalwani also addressed the ceremony, which began with the Chief Minister lighting a traditional lamp.
