New Delhi, November 29 – IndiGo and Air India announced on Saturday that they are rapidly implementing mandatory software and hardware realignment for their Airbus A320 family aircraft, following directives from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Airbus.
IndiGo shared an update on X, stating that their dedicated engineering team has already completed mandatory Airbus safety updates on 160 out of 200 AIB-authorized A320-family aircraft, ensuring their fleet remains ready, reliable, and safe for passenger travel.
The airline revealed that their engineering team worked through the night to complete these software updates. “With our team’s relentless efforts, we are minimizing delay situations and maintaining zero cancellations, ensuring no disruption to your travel plans,” IndiGo wrote.
The company assured passengers that the remaining aircraft will achieve full compliance within the required timeframe.
Meanwhile, Air India also posted on social media platform X, saying, “At Air India, we prioritize safety above all. Following EASA and Airbus directives for mandatory software and hardware realignment for A320 family aircraft worldwide, our engineers are working around the clock to complete this task as quickly as possible.”
The airline provided further details: “We have reset over 40 percent of our affected aircraft. We are confident that the entire fleet will be covered within the timeframe set by EASA.”
Air India clarified that no flights have been cancelled for this work. However, some Air India flights have experienced delays or rescheduling. Passengers have been advised to check the company’s official website for the latest flight status updates.
Both airlines emphasized their commitment to safety while working to minimize passenger inconvenience during this mandatory compliance process.
